Journey to Death and Beyond Haunted Trails
Covering three acres of woods at The "New" Place, Journey Trails is New Hope's most
original, creative, outreach event.
Every year during the month of October, the usually pleasant, friendly people of New Hope
are transformed into characters of all kinds...angels, demons, evil clowns, demented dolls,
and victims of all sorts of tragedies, to create an experience visitors will not soon forget.
Much more than the repetitive scares and bloody gore you come to expect from other
haunted attractions, Journey Trails offers a much deeper level of meaning and scare for
participants to discover and appreciate.
At New Hope, we feel truth is far scarier than man's wildest imaginations. So using the
truths of scripture, we paint real life pictures of what the Bible tells us we can expect on our
Journey to Heaven or our Journey to Hell. We've coined this type of haunting "Truth Based
Haunting" which scares attendees in their mind, body and soul. New this year were adding
the "Journey to the Past" gross museum which brings the gross history of the past into
your present.
Currently in the seventh year of operation, Journey Trails has grown and expanded to bring
in people from all over Virginia. Many visitors claim Journey is the best haunt in the region
and we like to agree! In fact, Journey Trails won First Place at the 2009 National Haunters
Convention Make-up Wars competition and won First Place again at the 2010 National
Haunters Convention Make-up Wars competition!
God is using Journey Trails to bring hundreds of people to Himself.
