Pastor Neil Lieder is the visionary and founding pastor of New Hope Church. Being led by God, in 1991he moved his family from Florida to Virginia, leaving behind a thriving business, family and friends. Once settled in New Kent, God called him into full time ministry, doing music productions for the family, with the family. After 7 years on the road with "From the Heart", God called him to plant a church for the unchurched in his home community of New Kent. In faithful obedience, he started an in-home Bible study, for unchurched acquainteces. This quickly grew into a small church. Just 9 months later, New Hope Church chartered as an official church and ordained Neil Lieder as their pastor.
Pastor Neil has been faithful to lead his people to a saving knowledge of Christ, then baptism, then lead them to growth, by example, through service at the New Hope Food Pantry. Because of the provisions of God, and the faithful, steadfastness of God's people, New Hope Pantry has grown to become a vital part of the community.
His heart for evangelism shines through New Hope's annual, seasonal, creative arts outreach event, Journey Trails. A little on the edgy side, it has been a huge success in reaching hundreds with the Gospel of Christ, who may otherwise, never step foot on church property.
Pastor Neil's vision for the church continues. Refusing to lead the church into debt, by prayer, he is guiding them step by step to go from the tent, which they currently meet in, to a steel building which is already purchased, and just needs to be erected.
He gives all glory to God the Father, and follows Him daily, in humble obedience, to fulfill the will of God for his life.
