What Judas Missed

What Judas Missed

A Message of the Foolishness of Suicide

Matthew 27:1-10, Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed. So they bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate the governor. When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.” So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. The chief priests picked up the coins and said, ‘It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.’ So they decided to use the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners. That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day. Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: ‘They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price set on him by the people of Israel, and they used them to buy the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.’”

What Judas Missed:

1. Pardon of Jesus Christ

2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

To Experience the Forgiveness of God:

1. Acknowledge my sin
2. Have Remorse for my sin
3. Accept the Forgiveness for my sin

Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God.”

John 20:19, “That evening, on the first day of the week, the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! ‘Peace be with you,’ He said.”

What Judas Missed:

2. Peace of God

John 14:27, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

Philippians 4:7, “If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

What Judas Missed:

3. Power of the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8, “But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask You to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I believe You have died for me and have removed my sin from my life. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for granting me eternal life. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Suicide is not the answer to your life’s problems – Jesus Christ is the answer to all of your problems in life.
